Leslie Scher, OD
SECRETARY
Dr. Leslie Scher is a practicing optometrist at Coral Gables Eye Care, a private practice in Coral Gables, Florida, where she focuses on specialty contact lenses, myopia management, and dry eye services. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the Florida State University and her Doctor of Optometry degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) College of Optometry.
Dr. Scher is actively involved in Optometry and professional leadership. She serves as Secretary of the Miami-Dade Optometric Physicians Association (MDOPA) and is a Clinical Director for the Special Olympics Lions’ Club International Opening Eyes Program. She is also a graduate of the American Optometric Association’s Leadership Institute and a longstanding member of the AOA.
A passionate advocate and mentor, Dr. Scher supports the Florida Optometric Association (FOA) through PAC donations and mentors future optometrists through the AOA’s Eye Opener Sessions program. She also mentors high school aged females through the Women of Tomorrow program. Dr. Scher has spoken locally, nationally, and internationally on topics related to myopia management and specialty contact lenses.
Outside of practice, she enjoys studying wine and spending time with her rescue dog, Beau.
